Chinese Sichuan Pepper Exports Flourish Globally

Recent months have seen exciting developments in China's Sichuan pepper exports, with multiple regions achieving breakthroughs in international markets.
In May, 1.5 tons of dried pepper from Yichuan County, Yanan, was exported to Taiwan via Shanghai, marking Yanan's first pepper export. June brought a $100,000+ order for Jintang County's "Jingyin" brand pepper, which has maintained a 4-ton annual export volume to France's high-end catering market since 2018. In July, 11 tons of fresh pepper from Guizhou is set to ship to Japan, following a £1.5 million supply deal with a UK company and new Southeast Asia operations.

H1 2025 national output reached 320,000 tons across 20 million mu of cultivation. Chongqing's Jiangjin district alone expects 340,000 tons of fresh pepper this year, with the entire industry chain targeting 5.8 billion yuan in output value.

Valued for both culinary and medicinal uses, Sichuan pepper enhances food flavor, aids digestion, and offers traditional Chinese medicinal benefits like relieving abdominal pain and lowering blood pressure.
Supported by customs facilitation measures like "same-day clearance" and quality management guidance, Chinese pepper now reaches 23 countries including South Korea, Japan, Canada, and Malaysia, promising even broader global presence ahead.
